Imminent Hurricane / Tropical Storm Threat – “The Box”

·        No coverage for new business

·         No increased coverage for existing accounts

·         No reinstatement of a lapsed policy

      shall be bound when a named tropical storm or hurricane is

      located within the designated “boundary box”

      issued by the carrier.

The entire island(s) of Puerto Rico and the American Virgin Islands	West of Longitude 60, East of Longitude 70, North of Latitude 13 and South of Latitude 23

No new business or increased coverage shall be bound on properties when a

designated tropical storm or hurricane is located within the boundaries West of

72 degrees W. Longitude; and North of 15 degrees N. Latitude; and South of

32 degrees N. Latitude; and East of 95 degrees W. Longitude.  Renewals are

not subject to the above, we will honor bind requests unless the risk has

expired. The program manager, at his/her discretion, may lift the moratorium

 when imminent danger of a direct strike has passed thorough a regional

area although a storm may still be in the box. Written approval from the program

manager must be in the file when this exception is made.
